David Strom, Union College '76'

David is passionate about technology and loves to share his knowledge with audiences ranging from rank beginners to the most geeky. He has used computers since the early days when IBM was still a powerhouse, even before Al Gore invented the Internet. He was master of his own Internet domain before anyone heard the term on Seinfeld.

Since graduating with a mathematics degree from Union, David has had a career in IT management and then as an IT-related editor. He has built numerous Web sites and started several IT-related publications - including being editors-in-chief at Tom's Hardware, Network Computing magazine and DigitalLanding.com.

He has spoken around the world at numerous conferences from Sydney to Caracas to Tokyo and back. He does do Windows and Macs and he is a member of the National Speakers Association.

David is a frequent contributor to the New York Times, has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows such as ABC World News Tonight and NPR's Science Friday talking about technology. His weekly "Web Informant"
email list and "strominator.com" blog reach very influential readers throughout the IT, vendor, network computing, OEM and enthusiast, reseller channel and security communities. He is currently the technology editor at Baseline Magazine.

David lives in St. Louis and has three children, none of whom to his great frustration have gone to small colleges.
